| What’s your favourite outdoor activity?
|
Surfing!
|
| How long have you volunteered with Surfrider?
|
3 years |
| Why did you become involved? |
To meet other people in the area who love surfing and who are also environmentally conscious and active.
|
| What was the last SFVI event you attended or volunteered at?
|
Cadboro Bay beach clean-up on August 14th |
| What is your favourite SFVI event/activity? |
The Wave Hunt! |
| What is the #1 thing you are doing to save our oceans? |
I’m really conscious of trying my best not using single-use plastics. I’ve been washing and re-using ziplocks and all other bags for at least 15 years! |
| What is your #1 tip to reduce single-use plastic use? |
When you buy produce, don’t use a bag at all, just put all your veg right in your cart. |
| Name a local business you support because of their environmental practices?
|
I support The Rootcellar because they source a lot of their product from local farmers. This reduces the food miles associated with what they sell, and it also means that there is a lot less packaging involved in transporting the food that they sell. |
